Matthew Steven Dowell of Landenberg
June 6, 1981 ~ January 21, 2017 (age 35) 35 Years Old
Matthew Steven Dowell, 35 of Landenberg, PA, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at home.
Born June 6, 1981 in West Chester, PA, he was the son of Myrlan E. Dowell and Linda S. Cornett Dowell of Landenberg, PA.
He was a graduate of Kennett Consolidated High School.
Matthew worked as a mechanic.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, and most of all taking care of his sister Heather and making sure her van was safe for travels.
Matthew was an avid sports fan, enjoyed the outdoors and liked to go fishing and hunting, riding motorcycles, listen to music, go to the beach and mountains, and hang out with his friends. He liked to tinker with many things, and could fix just about anything.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings Lucas Dowell and his wife Jennifer, Gene Dowell, Nicholas Dowell and Heather Dowell; nieces and nephews Rylee, Devon, and Kaiden; maternal grandparent Shirley Grey (Kelcie).
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparent Arlie Cornett and paternal grandparents Myrlan E. Dowell and Eula Dowell.
Relatives and Friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, January 27, 2017 from 5:00 -7:00 pm at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; followed by his Funeral Service at 7:00 pm.
His Graveside Service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Longwood Cemetery, 945 E. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly ask for donations be made to the funeral home at the above address for his burial expenses.
